Marshall Elliott is a Denver-based artist. As a student of film at the University of Colorado (BA 1999), he studied with avant-garde filmmaker Stan Brakhage and others. For ten years, he has been experimenting with abstract mixed media sculptural works, with an emphasis on burnt cloth. Recently, he has begun to return to his origins in film, collaborating with dancers, one project set in the Grand Canyon called "Downriver Dance," and a new series based on solitude for a performance project in San Francisco. Additionally, he has been involved in set design for the Human Nature Dance Theater company in Arizona.
